On one hand, I've dealt with a lot of pain, stress, and a lot of other crap that has come along with the accident. But on the other hand, I've had a three week vacation. It's been nice to be home with the wife and kids. I wish I could have done more around the house and such, but it is what it is.

Just when I thought I was about to close this post, Griffin poops on the floor. Ah good times.

Well enjoy this:

JoJo Gonzohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11589546415847004678noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3534165196959924980.post-972221687673679982010-05-04T18:34:00.002-06:002010-05-04T18:51:12.309-06:00Blog neglect...if my blog had feelings, it would hate me right now. It's been quite a while since I even logged in to it, let alone posted. Well, I'll save you the drivel of months upon months of what's happened since the last time and just let the few of you who read this actually know what's going on now.

A few weeks ago I was in the car with the three kids, stopped at a light, and got hit from behind. This was no run of the mill little dinky accident. This was on a road where the speed limit is 55, and during rush hour the stop light and long line of cars come up on you before you know it. I'd say the driver of the car, a 16 year old who probably just got his license a few months ago, hit me doing roughly 45-50. Both cars were towed out. Mine will be in the shop for a few more weeks and will cost roughly $8500 to fix. The kids all checked out fine. They're going for a follow up visit at my physical therapist/chiropractor tomorrow just to be sure. For me, today is the first weekday I've not been to a doctor's office. Severe-sustained neck/back pain, headaches, dizziness...good times. I've not even been back to work and it's been over two weeks. Combine that with the stress of trying to pay bills without having money, and it makes for some good stress. I'll be fine, the bills will get paid, the car will get fixed, I'm just happy my kids are okay.

On to the kids. Keaghan is on the tail end of his 1st grade year and he loves school. I hope this lasts. He's a natural born artist. He's always doodling/drawing on something. Once we get all the finances back in order, he wants to start taking Judo. That's my boy!

Kainoah is starting to talk a lot...pretty much non-stop. She likes nothing more than to bug her brothers especially if they're trying to sleep. She goes to dance/gym class with her mom and she picked up that talent from that side of the family.

Griffin is getting quite big. He's crawling, pulling himself up on things, saying mama and dada when he sees us, and goes crazy for his bottle. Hopefully he doesn't get too attached because that thing is going away at a year.

Jazzy and I are doing great. I can't describe our relationship with any better word than serene. We rarely disagree on things, and the few times we have we talk it out and move on. It's weird, but really nice.

The new(ish) house is going well. Just when it starts to get warm enough for me to work out in the yard I get hurt and can't do much of anything. In fact...since I started this post I've had to get up and walk around just to get my back ok.

Oh yeah, the computer is broke. So until I can get it fixed/replaced, no pics. Enough about me and mine. I'll try to post more frequently.JoJo Gonzohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11589546415847004678noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3534165196959924980.post-44801158234717248532009-08-21T22:48:00.003-06:002009-08-21T23:19:25.696-06:00Hello Little BoyOn July 14th Griffin was borned. I just keep putting it off and things get in the way and such. So here is a quick catch up in no particular order:

-We're in the process of buying a house. I've bought 2 houses before and don't remember them being this stressful. Maybe it's a lower tolerance to stress, or just that with the economy the way it is, it's harder. Either way it has been a long process, and we're not even done yet, nor do we know if we're going to get the house. Good times.

-The pregnancy is going well. My Jazzy was made for making babies. She is healthy, our little boy, who will remain unamed until he's born, is healthy. She's uncomfortable of course, and that makes me sad since I can't do anything for her. Any suggestions from the ladies would be nice.

-The kids are doing great. Keaghan just had his heart broken by his first girlfriend. She told him (via another girl) that she couldn't be his GF anymore becuase she fell in love with another boy. Oh the misery and sorrow! He's doing great in school, he reads to me every night I have him. He also just finished his second soccer season. Now he wants to start Karate. That should be a blast.

-The Kainoah is growing up so fast. Talking in complete sentances, and telling me what she wants (see demanding), is really weird. I don't remember the Keaghan being this vocal, or needy. She is a girl, and I am her father so I'm wrapped around her little finger. What's not growing is her body. She's so tiny. She still only weighs about 25 lbs. She'll be 3 in less than 4 months!

-Work is going well. I've been in this same position for over 2 years and with the company now almost 3. I'm very thankful to have a job with the economy the way it is. I've got a big test coming up in a week so wish me luck!

-Since I started dating Jazzy I've gained about 25 lbs. Here's the math involved:
Being comfortable + quitting fighting + being lazy + she cooks for me + we go out + I eat when she eats since she's pregnant = 25 lbs. Good times. I've tried several things to get me back into shape but nothing that can keep the initial motivation going. I've signed up to run a half marathon in August so I'm hoping that keeps the drive. What I really want to do is start martial arts again. Something like Jiu Jitsu, Judo, Sambo, Muay Thai, etc. Something that is a great workout along with learning how to kick some A.

I guess that's all for now. Until next quarter...JoJo Gonzohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11589546415847004678noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3534165196959924980.post-86925231688884886872009-03-19T21:56:00.001-06:002009-03-19T21:56:59.885-06:00Josh Ritter is Amazing

Wish I would have found his music soonerJoJo Gonzohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11589546415847004678noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3534165196959924980.post-86466038150100727902009-03-10T08:50:00.002-06:002009-03-10T09:01:56.363-06:00MusicI love love love music music music. Most people know me as a sports fan, but I would choose music for sports anyday. There's no better spectator rush than going to a concert of a band you love, singing every single note with them, and sharing the joy of the other fans. That being said, there is a new website for music reviews. My friend Dan went to school with a full ride in music. He's a genius when it comes to the technical and theory side and more importantly, dumbs up his reviews for people like me, while also including the theory too. It's a great site, just started. If you like music at all, I HIGHLY recommend it. You'll find mostly unknown artists reviews. The website is www.thereviewist.com. He also did a review on one of my favorite bands Nickel Creek. So check it out, and most importantly, let him know what you think!JoJo Gonzohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11589546415847004678noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3534165196959924980.post-19153346420210586662009-02-25T20:55:00.008-07:002009-02-26T08:40:36.667-07:0010 RandomsI didn't get tagged, and I'm not trying to start a tag deal either. Just thought it would be fun to jot down 10 of my fave things to do.

In no particular order:

1. Sing Kainoah a song before bed. She only will let me sing 3; Kainoa by Isreal Kamakawiwo'ole (to the right), Constellations by Jack Johnson, or Angel by Jack Johnson. Anytime I try and throw in a new song she shuts me down!

2. Read Keaghan "The Giving Tree" for the millionth time before bed. He just HAS to read this book. He's actually reading it to me now which is nice. Good thing it's an amazing book or that would really suck.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 242px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgh1lL-RSVrMUI5SXu6R1Xku_DO489uCqsmSEBdr6bpec6DEWlU7l9H8SLaZXt7kYRq5oN0R_4b4fgIi0zaU2RDDRgthZaljGYBP3JV4bk7ub_yISjQqEhiX1BtmrjT7t1yWj1NIw3nycDz/s320/url.htm" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5306954231540115138" />

3. Work out. I've never regretting working out after I've finished, ever. I know it's hard to finish one, and even harder to start. That's my struggle right now, making time. Not that I don't have it, I just use it on other, more fattening things.

4. Spending time with my wife. She is perfect for me. Whether we're playing video games, watching movies, or napping, I'm always having a killer time!

5. Playing with my dog. Men love dogs. Men were made to have dogs. Although she likes to misbehave, I love my Harper.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjffghWZtWeZQYP85aRqnU_IuGjkVXxHzLhjuaUw-CBb-vG8RSFN0T7-YgtLc7dF2TiS2Ty02j3l8DQMm2qjWLJ6_Ggcz20c4Uly-ZH56Iz2dzz9Q6v9Z4TR_Mcie_DAReIuzMzlRtEJhsH/s320/DSCN0277.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5306955262460260226" />

6. Kicking people in the head. I truly miss going to the gym, especially on kickboxing night. It is a pretty good accomplishment to kick someone in the head. Especially for me at 5'7". So when it happens, relish it. Just don't let it happen to you. Talking to friends who I haven't talked to in a while. It's good to catch up, to see how life is treating them. Let them know I'm still thinking of them, and say "until next time..." Knowing there aren't any expectations are nice. Makes me want to stay in touch more.

8. Traveling. I love to see new places, and experience new things. Problem is that I haven't done too much of it. Hopefully I'll figure out a way to get out there.

9. Work. Sounds odd eh? I know I have my ups and downs. It's a downer right now with the market the way it's been. But overall I really really love my job. I've had far worse, but can't say that I've had any better... except for maybe the two summers I spent at the Sports Park in high school. Man it was easy to pick up on girls back then.

10. Find new things. Whether it's music, movies, websites, whatever, it's a good time to enjoy new experiences and not get stale and stuck with the same stuff. I find new music with <A HREF="http://www.pandora.com"A/>Pandora. New websites with <A HREF="http://www.stumble.com"A/>Stumble. And new movies the old fashion way...going.

Well there you have it folks. Found it pretty profound

The Charlie Schulz Philosophy

(This is marvelous!! Scroll thru slowly and read carefully to receive and enjoy full effect.)

The following is the philosophy of Charles Schulz, the creator of the ‘Peanuts’ comic strip.

You don’t have to actually answer the questions….just ponder them.

1. Name the five wealthiest people in the world.
2. Name the last five Heisman trophy winners.
3. Name the last five winners of the Miss America pageant.
4. Name ten people who have won the Nobel or Pulitzer Prize.
5. Name the last half dozen Academy Award winners for best actor and actress.
6. Name the last decade’s worth of World Series winners.

How did you do?
The point is, none of us remember the ‘headliners’ of yesterday.
These are no second-rate achievers.
They are the best in their fields.
But, the applause dies..
Awards tarnish.
Achievements are forgotten.< /FONT>
Accolades and certificates are buried with their owners.

Here’s another quiz. See how you do on this one:

1. List a few teachers who aided your journey through school.
2. Name three friends who have helped you through a difficult time.
3. Name five people who have taught you something worthwhile.
4. Think of a few people who have made you feel appreciated and special!!
5. Think o f five people you enjoy spending time with.

Easier?

The lesson:
The people who make a difference in your life are not the ones with the most credentials..the most money…or the most awards.
They simply are the ones who care the most.

Pass this on to those people w ho have made a difference in your life, like I did.

”Be Yourself. Everyone Else Is Taken!’JoJo Gonzohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11589546415847004678noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3534165196959924980.post-68542256595307592762009-01-09T17:15:00.006-07:002009-01-26T17:26:08.367-07:00Top 10At work today my boss sent out a fun survey for us to do where we filled out our 5 favorite from a certain category. I though it would be fun to jot down some top 10 lists here and there. So, I'll start with what should be the easiest one, movies.

10. Troy (mmm...Brad Pitt)
9. Forrest Gump (Jenny!)
8. What Dreams May Come (visually stunning, tear)
7. Dumb and Dumber (best comedy ever, still laugh every time)
6. Gladiator (another guy show, but with more meat)
5. The Princess Bride (classic)
4. Dark Knight (although not a big fan of Batman, the Joker makes this one)
3. 300 (ultimate guy show)
2. Braveheart (still love it, may even be #1)
1. Lord of the Rings Trilogy (it's just one REALLY long movie)

That was actually harder than I thought. Just missed the cut: Edward Scissorhands, Juno, Knocked Up, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Ironman, The Notebook, A Walk to Remember, 12 Monkeys, The Crow, Rudy, Brian's Song, Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist...and some more I can't think of now.JoJo Gonzohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11589546415847004678noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3534165196959924980.post-40310216870443958282009-01-06T09:05:00.005-07:002009-01-06T10:15:12.873-07:00ScatterbrainIt's been a while since I last posted, and I've been thinking about things to post for a while now. Since I can't think of any ONE good thing, I'll just throw down some thoughts:

- The current NCAA Div 1 football system is royally screwed up. To steal the words from my buddy McKay, it's silly to crown a national champion based on people's opinions and computers. They should just settle it on the field. This would be akin to crowning the heavyweight boxing champion because he's the most popular, not because he beat the best fighters.

- Although I despise the University of Utah football program and most of its fans, I'm happy they won. Not only because the BCS is broken (see above), but because it goes to show that the so called "little guys" may not be so little anymore. The fact that the MWC doesn't get an automatic BCS birth, and the Big East does, baffles me.

- I'm totally happy for my friend Joel and his wife Shannelle. They're expecting for the first time after trying for a while now. I'm confident that she'll be an excellent mother, and that Joel will adequate at times ;)

- I'm in love with my beautiful wife Jasmine. It's not even a little question lurking at all. I'm whipped beyond whipped. I'm very lucky to have found her. I'm also proud to announce that we're expecting our first child together. We're both elated, although she's a bit scared. The adventure begins...

- Christmas and New Year's Eve were great this year. Christmas is always good, but I pretty much hate NYE. To me it's depressing because for some reason, no matter how hard I try and avoid it, I wind up dwelling on the miscues from the year behind. This year was different. Not only did I have a fab year, but I didn't make it all about me. We took the Keaghan and the Kainoah to my friend's house where they have kids the same age as mine. It was a good time to watch how much fun they all had together.

- I'm fat. I'm uncomfortable in my own skin. I need to do something to change it. I always have a hard time with staying motivated. I'll be all pumped up for a few weeks, and then it just dwindles. I'm sure I'm like most people. I just need to pony up and join a gym and go with a friend. Through the years that's the most success I've had as far as staying motivated.

- I love Pepsi.

- I feel like I'm doing a disservice to my children by having another child. I'm afraid they'll feel neglected because no matter what, they'll never have the stability that the new baby will. It makes me sad, real sad.

- I miss my kids. For those who don't know, I have my kids 50% of the time. This just isn't enough. It's nice to have a break, but I want them all the time. That's selfish of me to say, but I do. I miss them when they're not with me, and that also makes me sad.

- My dog is awesome. She is a 5 month old Plott Hound named Harper. She weighs about 35 lbs now, and the breed standard is 50. I think she might break that.

- I can't wait to buy a house. Within the next few months we're going to seriously start looking at buying a house. I can't wait to not pay someone else's mortgage.

- I want to travel. I've got friends scattered around and I want to visit all of them. Not only to go spend time in a differnt place, but because they mean a lot to me. I miss spending time with them too.

- I have wonderful friends that all live close to me, and I better spend time with them before they move.

- If you haven't seen it already, go see Slumdog Millionare. It's an amazing story, told well, acted well, and is visually stunning. For those who don't know it's the story of an uneducated 18 year old who grew up an orphan, who falls in love at an early age, and who goes on India's version of Who Wants to be a Millionare. Well the night before he's to answer the last question for 20 million Rupees, he's arrested because they think he's cheating. The story follows how he knew all the answers. Well thought out. Go see it now.

- I want to meet Benjamin Button

- After watching Dark Knight again and again, Heath Ledger's portrayal of the Joker may be the best piece of acting...ever.

-finJoJo Gonzohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11589546415847004678noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3534165196959924980.post-42698331085962008362008-12-04T21:33:00.005-07:002008-12-04T21:57:08.418-07:00Maui WeddingSo we're back from our wedding in Maui. I wasn't expecting much, movies are never as good as the books. All in all it was pretty good. There were some parts where the acting was atrocious. They also didn't do a very good job of showing the love that Bella and Edward have for each other. With that said, it was a pretty good portrayal of the book, and I'm excited for New Moon to be movieized.

Oddly, I got an email with the story below and it just blew me away. I'm including the link and also copying the story just in case they realize how ridiculous they are.

http://www.landoverbaptist.org/2008/december/twilight.html

Freehold, Iowa - A Christian mother in the Landover Baptist Community was left absolutely devastated this weekend, and her teenage daughter is under 24-hour suicide watch at the Landover Hospital for the Saved. All of these terrible things happened because a naughty little teenage girl refused to listen her parents and ran off with her friends to see the terrible, hateful, anti-Christian film, Twilight.

Mrs. Jean Reynolds and her husband, Larry were sitting in the living room with the lights turned off when their daughter, Cindy May arrived home 15-minutes after curfew last Saturday night. "She took off her Veggie Tales™ sneakers at the door and tippy-toed quietly into the living room," said her mother. "When we heard her approach, my husband, Larry, snapped on the lights and yelled, 'Cindy May! Where in the sweet name of Jesus have you been, you little liar! It's 8:15!' Well, Cindy May was just so shocked, she started weeping uncontrollably. The Holy Ghost convicted her right there on the living room floor!" continued Mrs. Reynolds. "She ran up to her daddy, threw her arms around him and confessed, 'I didn't go to Bible study, Daddy! I didn't! My friend Martha, from our Special Educations class tricked me and made me see the movie, Twilight with her unsaved friends!'"

"Larry Reynolds looked his daughter in the eye," Pastor Deacon Fred told the congregation on Sunday morning. "He grabbed her by the hair, dragged her to the basement door and threw her down the steps. 'I'll deal with you in a minute, you rebellious, ugly little whore!' he yelled, and then slammed the door." Pastor Deacon Fred paused for a moment from behind the pulpit, and looked out over the congregation with a tear forming in his eye. Then he asked the question. "Is this the sort of behavior we tolerate in our Christian homes?" The congregation unanimously responded "NO!"

"Mr. Reynolds spanked his ugly teenage daughter over her naked hind side with a King James Bible until she stopped crying, and the only words that came out of her lips before she lost consciousness were, 'I'm sorry, Daddy - I'm sorry I let you down. May Jesus forgive me.'" said Pastor. "Her Godly parents waited two hours for Cindy to think about what she had done to embarrass the family before they called the police. When authorities finally arrived, they found little Cindy had managed to break both of her legs and was in a state of shock. Her bottom was so sore, she couldn't sit down. Jean and Larry Reynolds were both in tears, holding each other in the living room. Cindy was taken to the Trauma Ward at the Landover Hospital for the Saved and her parents were taken to church authorities for questioning and prayer.

"When I learned that Cindy Reynolds lied to her parents in order to attend a Picture House where this vampire movie, Twilight, was showing, I called the theater owner and had him shut down the show," said Pastor Deacon Fred. "And this trash will not be showing in any theater within a 100 square mile radius of Freehold, Iowa - so help me God! One little girl who wants to commit suicide after seeing this movie is enough for this town to handle!" Pastor continued. "And if it were not for her loving parents waiting up after curfew, and their diligent response, little Cindy might have come home after seeing Twilight that evening and done something awful to herself! She might have killed herself to become a vampire!" Pastor yelled.

"We all know that Cindy May is not one of the most attractive girls in this Church," said Pastor Deacon Fred. "That' doesn't mean she is loved any less than any other unattractive girl! Christian parents with unattractive teenage daughters should take heed that Twilight is a film that is driving ugly ducklings into fits of primal lust," he warned. "This movie preys on little unwanted girls, who can count the number of friends they have on one finger! And this is just plain sad! These young ladies need to be told they have a future! There are plenty of things they can do to better this world behind the scenes where they won't be seen in public. Twilight suggests they should end their lives and become vampiresses to spend eternity with handsome vampire gentlemen who don't care how unsightly a young gal is to look upon! Twilight is hitting America's poor teenage Christian girls in their heart strings, promising them the gift of eternal life with no social concerns! It is a perversion of the story of Christ.

Landover Baptist has already received over 5,000 e-mails from American Christian families who have experienced similar incidents like poor little Cindy May. Send us yours, as we gather these American horror stories and present our case to Congress. God willing, Federal authorities will invoke an act where we can take every book, movie, and ungodly item relating to the Twilight series, pitch them into a great big pile and burn them in a bonfire. "The smoke of this great fire, will be kindled from the flames of America's repentance!" Pastor Deacon Fred explains. "It will reach forth to the very Heavens! Unto the nostrils of the Living God! Glory! And all praise be to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, that His will be done, and our obedience be honored in regard to passing restrictive laws concerning the movie, Twilight before it causes Christian families more pain and suffering."JoJo Gonzohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11589546415847004678noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3534165196959924980.post-10181694197174104072008-11-21T22:00:00.002-07:002008-11-21T22:00:39.662-07:00lol<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkbaDysWTowGZAn73FxCx-NEbfLRRSH6i2xGUFz6Vf6GRz7CjVMdRGfw59uR6biT8eOsb6Kv0q0tRQllpRcA4rqMjRkgwX5m1_vViqatKWZXQwK0m54UOMxD8niC-ptI7jy8bwT2IbY8aX/s320/Funny.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5271342357677498114" />JoJo Gonzohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11589546415847004678noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3534165196959924980.post-41876246690069325842008-11-19T16:43:00.003-07:002008-11-19T16:48:18.628-07:00Twilight<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 245px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi9VSOFKSHC3C_8WxiBmpuQcT_36rayQ6liokP9UTMXIcxttxCo4Bqoqz8KOZvKjBb6kLD8Pok4bGzrm-PLsFonKAVWUCqyqtHYhcRQjVqgCs4hIH7mR_aEmfXAKsmooP2gIHlW5yJoC73t/s320/twilight-vampire-family.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5270519235723449954" />

Well since I have had a few questions, I'll just answer them all here.
