Scatterbrain

It's been a while since I last posted, and I've been thinking about things to post for a while now. Since I can't think of any ONE good thing, I'll just throw down some thoughts:

- The current NCAA Div 1 football system is royally screwed up. To steal the words from my buddy McKay, it's silly to crown a national champion based on people's opinions and computers. They should just settle it on the field. This would be akin to crowning the heavyweight boxing champion because he's the most popular, not because he beat the best fighters.

- Although I despise the University of Utah football program and most of its fans, I'm happy they won. Not only because the BCS is broken (see above), but because it goes to show that the so called "little guys" may not be so little anymore. The fact that the MWC doesn't get an automatic BCS birth, and the Big East does, baffles me.

- I'm totally happy for my friend Joel and his wife Shannelle. They're expecting for the first time after trying for a while now. I'm confident that she'll be an excellent mother, and that Joel will adequate at times ;)

- I'm in love with my beautiful wife Jasmine. It's not even a little question lurking at all. I'm whipped beyond whipped. I'm very lucky to have found her. I'm also proud to announce that we're expecting our first child together. We're both elated, although she's a bit scared. The adventure begins...

- Christmas and New Year's Eve were great this year. Christmas is always good, but I pretty much hate NYE. To me it's depressing because for some reason, no matter how hard I try and avoid it, I wind up dwelling on the miscues from the year behind. This year was different. Not only did I have a fab year, but I didn't make it all about me. We took the Keaghan and the Kainoah to my friend's house where they have kids the same age as mine. It was a good time to watch how much fun they all had together.

- I'm fat. I'm uncomfortable in my own skin. I need to do something to change it. I always have a hard time with staying motivated. I'll be all pumped up for a few weeks, and then it just dwindles. I'm sure I'm like most people. I just need to pony up and join a gym and go with a friend. Through the years that's the most success I've had as far as staying motivated.

- I love Pepsi.

- I feel like I'm doing a disservice to my children by having another child. I'm afraid they'll feel neglected because no matter what, they'll never have the stability that the new baby will. It makes me sad, real sad.

- I miss my kids. For those who don't know, I have my kids 50% of the time. This just isn't enough. It's nice to have a break, but I want them all the time. That's selfish of me to say, but I do. I miss them when they're not with me, and that also makes me sad.

- My dog is awesome. She is a 5 month old Plott Hound named Harper. She weighs about 35 lbs now, and the breed standard is 50. I think she might break that.

- I can't wait to buy a house. Within the next few months we're going to seriously start looking at buying a house. I can't wait to not pay someone else's mortgage.

- I want to travel. I've got friends scattered around and I want to visit all of them. Not only to go spend time in a differnt place, but because they mean a lot to me. I miss spending time with them too.

- I have wonderful friends that all live close to me, and I better spend time with them before they move.

- If you haven't seen it already, go see Slumdog Millionare. It's an amazing story, told well, acted well, and is visually stunning. For those who don't know it's the story of an uneducated 18 year old who grew up an orphan, who falls in love at an early age, and who goes on India's version of Who Wants to be a Millionare. Well the night before he's to answer the last question for 20 million Rupees, he's arrested because they think he's cheating. The story follows how he knew all the answers. Well thought out. Go see it now.

- I want to meet Benjamin Button

- After watching Dark Knight again and again, Heath Ledger's portrayal of the Joker may be the best piece of acting...ever.

Man! YOu do have a lot on your mind! First of all CONGRATULATIONS, on the new soon to be addition!! Your kids are lucky to have you as their daddy. Second of all, if you join a gym, beware of the trainers! Don't let them be mean to you! I joined a few months ago, and the first thing the trainer said to me was, "You need to lose 10-12 pounds, I'll give you 12 sessions that will cost you $380, and that's a smokin' deal!" I wanted to say "no shit shirlock!" but didn't!
Third, where are you planning on moving? There's a house across the street from me that is foreclosed on and I am SURE it IS a "smokin' deal!"
Sorry for the long comment! :)
