Back to work

It's been almost three weeks since the accident and I've yet to go back to work. On one hand, I've dealt with a lot of pain, stress, and a lot of other crap that has come along with the accident. But on the other hand, I've had a three week vacation. It's been nice to be home with the wife and kids. I wish I could have done more around the house and such, but it is what it is.

Just when I thought I was about to close this post, Griffin poops on the floor. Ah good times.

Well enjoy this:

Blog neglect

...if my blog had feelings, it would hate me right now. It's been quite a while since I even logged in to it, let alone posted. Well, I'll save you the drivel of months upon months of what's happened since the last time and just let the few of you who read this actually know what's going on now.

A few weeks ago I was in the car with the three kids, stopped at a light, and got hit from behind. This was no run of the mill little dinky accident. This was on a road where the speed limit is 55, and during rush hour the stop light and long line of cars come up on you before you know it. I'd say the driver of the car, a 16 year old who probably just got his license a few months ago, hit me doing roughly 45-50. Both cars were towed out. Mine will be in the shop for a few more weeks and will cost roughly $8500 to fix. The kids all checked out fine. They're going for a follow up visit at my physical therapist/chiropractor tomorrow just to be sure. For me, today is the first weekday I've not been to a doctor's office. Severe-sustained neck/back pain, headaches, dizziness...good times. I've not even been back to work and it's been over two weeks. Combine that with the stress of trying to pay bills without having money, and it makes for some good stress. I'll be fine, the bills will get paid, the car will get fixed, I'm just happy my kids are okay.

On to the kids. Keaghan is on the tail end of his 1st grade year and he loves school. I hope this lasts. He's a natural born artist. He's always doodling/drawing on something. Once we get all the finances back in order, he wants to start taking Judo. That's my boy!

Kainoah is starting to talk a lot...pretty much non-stop. She likes nothing more than to bug her brothers especially if they're trying to sleep. She goes to dance/gym class with her mom and she picked up that talent from that side of the family.

Griffin is getting quite big. He's crawling, pulling himself up on things, saying mama and dada when he sees us, and goes crazy for his bottle. Hopefully he doesn't get too attached because that thing is going away at a year.

Jazzy and I are doing great. I can't describe our relationship with any better word than serene. We rarely disagree on things, and the few times we have we talk it out and move on. It's weird, but really nice.

The new(ish) house is going well. Just when it starts to get warm enough for me to work out in the yard I get hurt and can't do much of anything. In fact...since I started this post I've had to get up and walk around just to get my back ok.

Oh yeah, the computer is broke. So until I can get it fixed/replaced, no pics. Enough about me and mine. I'll try to post more frequently.

I know, I know

So I know it's been a long time since I posted anything with any real information. I just keep putting it off and things get in the way and such. So here is a quick catch up in no particular order:

-We're in the process of buying a house. I've bought 2 houses before and don't remember them being this stressful. Maybe it's a lower tolerance to stress, or just that with the economy the way it is, it's harder. Either way it has been a long process, and we're not even done yet, nor do we know if we're going to get the house. Good times.

-The pregnancy is going well. My Jazzy was made for making babies. She is healthy, our little boy, who will remain unamed until he's born, is healthy. She's uncomfortable of course, and that makes me sad since I can't do anything for her. Any suggestions from the ladies would be nice.

-The kids are doing great. Keaghan just had his heart broken by his first girlfriend. She told him (via another girl) that she couldn't be his GF anymore becuase she fell in love with another boy. Oh the misery and sorrow! He's doing great in school, he reads to me every night I have him. He also just finished his second soccer season. Now he wants to start Karate. That should be a blast.

-The Kainoah is growing up so fast. Talking in complete sentances, and telling me what she wants (see demanding), is really weird. I don't remember the Keaghan being this vocal, or needy. She is a girl, and I am her father so I'm wrapped around her little finger. What's not growing is her body. She's so tiny. She still only weighs about 25 lbs. She'll be 3 in less than 4 months!

-Work is going well. I've been in this same position for over 2 years and with the company now almost 3. I'm very thankful to have a job with the economy the way it is. I've got a big test coming up in a week so wish me luck!

-Since I started dating Jazzy I've gained about 25 lbs. Here's the math involved:
Being comfortable + quitting fighting + being lazy + she cooks for me + we go out + I eat when she eats since she's pregnant = 25 lbs. Good times. I've tried several things to get me back into shape but nothing that can keep the initial motivation going. I've signed up to run a half marathon in August so I'm hoping that keeps the drive. What I really want to do is start martial arts again. Something like Jiu Jitsu, Judo, Sambo, Muay Thai, etc. Something that is a great workout along with learning how to kick some A.

I guess that's all for now. Until next quarter...

Music

I love love love music music music. Most people know me as a sports fan, but I would choose music for sports anyday. There's no better spectator rush than going to a concert of a band you love, singing every single note with them, and sharing the joy of the other fans. That being said, there is a new website for music reviews. My friend Dan went to school with a full ride in music. He's a genius when it comes to the technical and theory side and more importantly, dumbs up his reviews for people like me, while also including the theory too. It's a great site, just started. If you like music at all, I HIGHLY recommend it. You'll find mostly unknown artists reviews. The website is www.thereviewist.com. He also did a review on one of my favorite bands Nickel Creek. So check it out, and most importantly, let him know what you think!
